CIRCULAR ECONOMY INNOVATION CHALLENGE
Apply now and secure your opportunity to present your innovation to Stellantis
Stellantis, one of the world’s leading automakers, is seeking passionate tech innovators with cutting-edge technologies in the field of circular economy to implement in their vehicles, manufacturing facilities and across their supply chain
Top ranked innovations will present to Stellantis and Mobilitech's executive teams for potential technological and commercial collaboration and investment
The circular economy is comprised of "4 Rs":
Reman, Reuse, Recycle, Repair
Reman
Reuse
Recycle
Repair
Used, worn or defective parts are thoroughly dismantled, cleaned and remanufactured to OEM specifications. Nearly 12,000 parts covering 40 product lines, including electric vehicle batteries, are available.
Approximately 4.5 million multi-brand parts in inventory, still in good condition, are recovered from end-of-life vehicles and sold in 155 countries through the B-Parts e-commerce platform.
Production scraps and end-of-life vehicles are fed back into the manufacturing process. In just six months, the business unit has collected 1 million recycled parts.
Worn parts are repaired and reinstalled into customers’ vehicles. In 21 locations around the world, e-repair centers work on electric vehicle batteries.
CHALLENGE CLUSTERS
Battery Tech
Innovative solutions that enable batteries to actualize the 4Rs mentioned above. For example, under 'Reuse' could be technologies ensuring traceability, tracking location and history of battery cells and
battery health solutions for planning reuse.
Advanced Materials
Innovations dedicated to replacing or enhancing materials within vehicles such as rubber, plastic and metal. Additionally, new materials that are related to batteries: enhancing battery lifetime, density, weight, capacity etc.
Recycling Process
Innovations related to improving automotive recycling that can be implemented at every stage of the recycling/reuse process. For example, innovative approaches for preprocessing scrap materials, sorting, compacting materials for efficient storage and transport, enabling their recycling/reuse and more.
Waste Managment
Solutions in this cluster pertain to waste management processes within the factory, throughout the supply chain and for all scrap types. This could include establishing waste management systems in factories or linked to automotive factories.
New Businesses
Innovations in this cluster should include new businesses linked to the 4Rs. One example could be a marketplace for sourcing battery components or innovative business models that support circular economy principles in the automotive sector.
We welcome out-of-the-box thinking, new ideas and business models that have not been seen before.
